Today I had my first recital in my cello teacher’s studio. Although I was really tired because I had my cheer competition on the same day, I really enjoyed this performance. I got to see a lot of other talented students and I hope that I can be as good as them in the future!

This is me playing Saint-Saens cello concerto for my Certificate of Merit grade 8 test. I think my skill has improved a lot since the last recital, but I think it still needs to be polished in the future.

Didn’t expect the summer recital to come that soon. Today I performed Elgar cello concerto for the first time, it wasn’t too bad. I feel like it would definitely be so epic if I could play this with an actual symphony orchestra.

I was sooo excited to be the featured soloist with the LA Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the Colburn School in Los Angeles! It was my first time playing a solo with an orchestra, and I had the incredible opportunity to perform the epic Elgar Cello Concerto. I’m sure I’ve mentioned before how much I’ve always wanted to perform it with an orchestra!

I think I really need to visit some basics in order to improve my skills since I feel like I’ve hit a bottleneck with my solo. Well here is me playing Popper’s etude no.2 for my Certificate of Merit
Advanced level. I definitely need to work on my right hand with the bow for better sound projection…
