Hi! My name is Yulin Shen, you can call me Emily.

I have several hobbies, but music has always been the biggest passion of mine, especially when it comes to playing the cello. I feel like the cello’s deep and warm sound always speaks to me, and it can truly help me express some feelings that I don’t always know how to say in words.

Even though music is a huge passion of mine, I’ve also found myself deeply interested in neuroscience. Neuroscience to me, is getting to know how actually our brain works, whether it is making decisions, expressing emotions, or possibly, enjoying music. I feel like there’s so much we still don’t know about our brain, and that’s the part that makes neuroscience incredibly exciting to me.
